I have taught classes in Comparative Studies, American Studies, and Musicology, in formats from large survey lecture to graduate seminar. I have also conducted workshops for improvising musicians and taught private percussion lessons. From aesthetic theory to popular music history, my courses always emphasize the deep interconnections between culture and political life, helping students think through the ways in which music comes to matter deeply in our society.
